it is said the octagon is regular so all sides of octagon are equal
area of octagon =area of trapezium +area of rectangle +area of trapezium
sum of parallel sides of trapezium=26+8=34
base of rectangle=26 cm
height of rectangle =8cm
height of trapezium =5cm
area of octagon =2×1/2×(26+8)×5+26×8
=34×5+26×8
=170+208
=378cm sq
