Explanation:

1) The fibers are first extracted by retting. The retting process consists of bundling jute stems together and immersing them in slow running water. There are two types of retting: stem and ribbon. After the retting process, stripping begins; women and children usually do this job

2) Production levels of Cotton and Jute are the same. Both are water absorbent and biodegradable fibres. Both fibres are also breathable. India is the largest producing country of cotton and Bangladesh is the largest producing country of Jute.
