If I had been ___ (name of the Gallantry Award winner), what would I have done for my nation:
- In mission SNOW LEOPARD, Col Santosh Babu was indeed an Indian Army commander as well as the commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment in Galwan Valley (East Ladakh).
- During the China-India conflicts, despite being gravely injured, he led from the front in hand-to-hand fighting to repel the enemy's violent and aggressive attempts to force back the Indian armed forces by 2020.
- The Colonel had inspired and motivated his troops to hold the ground and retaliate to defeat the enemy soldiers, who attacked using lethal and sharp weapons(rods, batons wrapped with barbed wires) along with the heavy stone pelting from a joining height.
- Col.B Santosh Babu battled until his last breathe to defend India, his motherland. And he was one of the first Indian armed forces assassinated in combat with the Chinese People’s Liberation (PLA) since 1975.
- His bravery in face of the enemy, exemplary leadership, astute professionalism, and supreme sacrifice in the line of duty, inspires me to join the defense forces, develop new gadgets/technology to fight both visible and invisible enemies(bioweapons like covid) of the country.
- I promise to have a brave heart, Self-discipline, and serve my life for India’s Unity, Peace, and Integrity...Jai Hind.
