Patna: Taking a step forward in managing nightmarish traffic problem in the state capital, police in Patna on Tuesday unveiled a state-of-the-art E-Challan System to keep tab on traffic rule violators through 'Projectile Tilted Zoom', or PTZ cameras installed at 33 different locations across the city.
With this system, violators won't be able to escape the long arms of the law as the PTZ camera will record the movement of the vehicle, its speed, its license plate and other pertinent information that would be used to mail the challan ticket to the home of the owner of the vehicle.
Special features of the PTZ cameras include its ability to zero in on a vehicle's license plate from a distance of about one kilometer. It also has tilting and 360-degree rotation capability to monitor the movement of the vehicles along with capturing the position of the driver.
