Gandhi Jayanti is one of the three National Festivals in India. It is an annual celebration on 2nd October to mark the birth anniversary of the great leader, freedom fighter and of course the father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi (full name - Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi).

He was a great freedom fighter who had spent the whole of his life in the service of his Nation. Mahatma Gandhi was the strong follower of Truth and Non-Violence hence World observes 2nd October as the International Non-Violence Day and celebrates it to commemorate Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
