It is very true that time can be compared with time. We cannot touch the same water two times in the flow. Similarly, we also cannot get back the time that has passed away. Once time goes away, we cannot get back. So it is very necessary to manage and make use of our time in proper manner.

So, we must not waste time. Even if we cry, we will not get the time back. So, time is very rightly compared with the water flowing in the river.

'Time is like a river'. You cannot 'touch the same river' twice. 'The flow that has passed will never pass again'.

The flow of the river is unidirectional and so is the flow of time. We can’t stop time either can we stop the river. Once we have spoiled the river by throwing something in it, it cannot be redone again.

Similarly, once we have hurt someone in the span of the time, we cannot redo it because it has gone forever and hence the moment cannot be repeated again. Time, therefore, can be compared to the river which flows never to retract back and never to undo the things we have done to it.
