i) when a is positive and ii) when a is negative

INSTRUCTIONS

1 Take two graph papers of a suitable size

2 Consider a quadratic polynomial f(x).

3 Two cases arise, either a is greater than 0 or a is less than 0.

4 Obtain the set of ordered pairs (x,f(x)) for different values of x in the polynomial f(x).

Plot all the ordered pairs in the cartesian plane on the graph paper. join the points

by a free hand curve only.

EXPECTED OUTCOME

1 Students will be able to draw the graph of a quadratic polynomial.

Students will be able to know the shape of the graph for different values of a (when

a is positive and when a is negative)
