I am against Dowry system, in all way.
It makes the daughter like a burden on the parents and also she is mistreated in her husband’s house if dowry is not sufficient.

And also it is a criminal offence.
But, the places where I live in Rajasthan and Kerala known as village the primitive foundation of the Indian Society.
It still do exist just the name is changed.
Earlier it was dowry , now it is known as Gift for the daughter. Just the name has changed , the concept is almost same.
No, it is not about sharing wealth between children that thing is done after parent’s demise not after daughter’s marriage right.

I have seen many people (not everyone) just after marriage getting cars (Costly one), bikes, furniture and cash and gold also for sure.
It is the reality.
I don’t think any keyboard written paragraph (like this answer) about this issue will bring any change and neither I can bring any change for now.
What I can do is just not follow that and tell my close ones also for not doing that.
This step is enough I think , at least the next generation after 10–15 years will be free from this thing ( Maybe ) .

Yes I am strictly against this system as it's a black mark on our culture. Nobody should give or take dowry as its inhuman activity completely.
Daughters are not burden .
