Ujjain: A gathering of more than 3,000 Ujjainites comprising schoolchildren belonging to around 50 ICSE, CBSE and MP Board schools and their parents witnessed the gala seventh ‘On-the-Spot Painting Competition’ organised by the Free Press in association with DHL Infrabulls at Tarantal Parisar Garden here on Sunday.

Like previous years, the competition offered an opportunity to schoolchildren to display their best artistic talent before a large audience and win exciting prizes.

The competition started at 10 am and continued till 12.30 noon. Though 9 am was fixed as reporting time for participants they started flocking in large numbers along with their parents and friends at the venue since 8 am.

The competition powered by Prince Hyundai, ‘needbags’, Delhi Public School and other reputed organisations had attractive gifts for children of all age groups. Several top schools participated in the competition with a large number of their students studying in classes I to XII exhibiting their best talent to get assessed by renowned judges.

WINNERS

Group-A: Rashi Thani of St Pauls Convent School (first), Tanishk Kumavat of Gyan Sagar Academy (second) and Daksh Sethiya of St Pauls Convent School (third).

Group-B: Aadhya Dwivedi of Stanford International School (first), Ishan Soni of Kendriya Vidyalaya (second) and Hitaishi Pandey of Kendra Vidyalaya (third).

Group-C: Dev Parmar of Government Madhav Nagar School of Excellence (first), Rashida Latthawala of Christu Jyoti Convent Senior Secondary School (second) and Siddharth Rawat of Kendriya Vidyalaya (third).

Drawing-sheets were provided to every participant though they brought their colours

Barring Group-A participants (for class I to III), titles for painting for Group B and C (for class IV to VII and form class VIII to XII) were given just before the commencement of the competition. Ujjain’s religious places and green Ujjain were the themes for painting for Group-B participants. Likewise, Ujjain’s Kshipra aarti and Smart City Ujjain were the themes for Group-C participants.

13 prizes each in the three groups— top three winners and 10 consolation prizes for each group– were awarded. Besides, useful bags were provided to first three winners of each group.

Certificates to be given to all participants through their schools.
