Lithology deals with the type of material composing the soil of a region.

For example, whether a rock formation of a region is mainly composed of limestone or granite, is determined by lithology.

Topography on the other hand deals with the physical aspect of the land, such as the elevation, inclination etc.

Together, these two combine to provide complete information about a particular part of the land.
