according to Fleming's left hand rule when the body is kept in a uniform magnetic field and current is supplied to it the the body poses force in opposite direction on each side of the coil. the distance between the coil and the force applied on the opposite sides of the coil forms A couple and after multiplying it forms a moment of force and a torque is experienced.
