It is true that,the torque on wheel is proportional to its diameter.

• The mathematical formula of the torque on a wheel is :

T = F × R × Sin (Theta)

• Now,in the right hand side of the above mentioned mathematical formula,the R is the distance from the pivot point which is the radius in case of a rotating wheel.

• Now, if we increase the value of R in the right hand side of the equation,then the value of the torque will also increase and vice versa.

• It proves that the radius is directly proportional with the torque which means diameter is also directly proportional to the torque. ( Diameter = 2× radius)
