Torsional Pendulum

Torsional pendulum is an oscillator in which the system restores its position after getting twisted. This device is consisting of a disc of large moment of inertia mounted on one end of torsional rod wire, keeping other end fixed.

It is mainly used for time keeping purpose as it enables us to use its functionality as an instrument for precision. It is used in fields like biophysics, electrical science, metallurgy etc.
