 \large{\green{\underline \bold{\tt{Given :-}}}}

 \:\:

  • Total tickets sold = 35

 \:\:

  • Rate of tickets are Rs 20 & Rs 40

 \:\:

  • Total money collected = Rs 900

 \:\:

 \large{\red{\underline \bold{\tt{To \: Find :-}}}}

 \:\:

  • Number of Rs 20 & Rs 40 tickets sold

 \:\:

\large{\orange{\underline{\tt{Solution :-}}}}

 \:\:

  • Let the number of Rs 20 tickets be "x"

  • Let the number of Rs 40 tickets be "y"

 \:\:

 \purple{\underline \bold{According \: to \: the \ question :}}

 \:\:

Total tickets sold is 35

 \:\:

➟ x + y = 35

 \:\:

➜ x = 35 - y -------- (1)

 \:\:

Also, given that total money collected by selling tickets is Rs 900

 \:\:

So,

 \:\:

➟ 20x + 40y = 900

 \:\:

Dividing the above equation by "20"

 \:\:

➜ x + 2y = 45 --------- (2)

 \:\:

 \underline{\bold{\texttt{Putting the value of "x" from (1) to (2) }}}

 \:\:

➜ x + 2y = 45

 \:\:

➜ 35 - y + 2y = 45

 \:\:

➜ 35 + y = 45

 \:\:

➜ y = 45 - 35

 \:\:

➨ y = 10 --------- (3)

 \:\:

  • Number of Rs 40 tickets sold is 10

 \:\:

 \underline{\bold{\texttt{Putting y = 10 in (1) }}}

 \:\:

➜ x = 35 - y

 \:\:

➜ x = 35 - 10

 \:\:

➨ x = 25

 \:\:

  • Hence number of Rs 20 tickets sold is 25

 \:\:

Therefore number if Rs 20 & Rs 40 tickets sold are 25 & 10 respectively
