answer : option (3) O

total mechanical energy = kinetic energy + potential energy ,

for simple harmonic motion,

equation of motion of particle, y = A sinωt

so, v = ωA cosωt

now, kinetic energy = 1/2 mv²

= 1/2 mω²A²cos²ωt ......(1)

potential energy, P.E = workdone by particle

= F.dy cos180°

= -mω²ydy cos180°

= 1/2 mω²y²

= 1/2mω²A²sin²ωt ......(2)

from equations (1) and (2) we get,

Total mechanical energy = 1/2 m²ω²A²

we see, total mechanical is not in simple harmonic wave. so, frequency of it is zero.
