400 cm²

GIVEN -

Total suface area of cube - 600 sq. cm

Lateral surface area = ?

SOLUTION -

T.S.A - 6 a²

600 = 6a²

100 = a²

10 = a

a = 10cm

LATERAL SURFACE AREA = 4a²

= 4 × (10)²

= 4 × 100

= 400 cm²

Let the edge of the cube be l cm.

Total surface are of the cube = 5400cm^2

 {6l}^{2}  = 5400 \\  \\  {l}^{2}  =   \frac{5400}{6}  \\  \\ l =  \sqrt{900}   \:  = 30cm

ஃ Surface area of all vertical faces of the cube

 =  {4l}^{2} \\  \\  = 4 \:  \times  \:  {(30 \: cm)}^{2}  \\  \\  = 4 \:  \times  \:  {900 \: cm}^{2}  \\  \\  =  {3600 \: cm}^{2}

Thus, the area of all vertical faces of the cube is 3600cm^2
