Correct Question :-

  • Two numbers are in the ratio 5 : 7.
  • Their difference is 10. Find the numbers.

Given :-

  • Ratio of numbers = 5:7
  • Their difference = 10

Have to Find :-

  • The numbers = ?

Solution :-

Let's consider the numbers be " 5x " and " 7x " respectively.

So,

According to the Question

↬ 5x - 7x = 10

↬ (- 2x ) = 10

↬ x = 10/-2

x = ( -5)

Now,

  • First number = 5x

⇒ 5 × (-5) = - 25

  • Second Number = 7x

⇒ 7 × (-5) = - 35

Therefore, the numbers are (-25) and (-35) respectively.
