Let the two triangles be ΔABC and ΔPQR.

Given:

Area of ΔABC= 120sq.cm

Area of ΔPQR= 480sq.cm

To find:

Ratio of any pair of Corresponding sides= ?

Solution:

ΔABC= 120sq.cm

ΔPQR= 480sq.cm

ΔABC:ΔPQR = 120:480

\frac{Tri.ABC}{Tri.PQR} =[\frac{AB}{PQ}]^2

       \frac{12}{48}  =  [\frac{AB}{PQ}]^2

       \frac{1}{4}     = [\frac{AB}{PQ}]^2

    \sqrt{\frac{1}{4}}    = \frac{AB}{PQ}

       \frac{1}{2}     = \frac{AB}{PQ}

∴     \frac{AB}{PQ}   = \frac{1}{2}

Hence. the ratio of any pair of Corresponding sides is 1:2 .
