Towns and cities have always been populated more than villages . why?

This is the effect of migration. People migrate towards the city .The reason for this is that the facilities provided to urban areas is more compared to the village areas .therefore in search of job opportunities the villagers migrate towards cities. So the population in villages is low as compared to the urban (city)areas.
