Note : I have given my answer in respect with 'Nationalism in Europe' so my answer is not wrong but yes it could be different as from your curriculum.

in democracy the destruction of Germany take place in the following steps

- initially in the Frankfurt Parliament was set up which made a democratic constitution and The Prince of Prussia as its head.

- rejected their answer and meet with the other powerful forces such as large junkers, non democratic forces to resist them.

- since then on the nationalism took his roots from democracy and the only demand of national people now was to have a nation state only.

- then, they were often mobilised by non democratic forces as they support any of them just they would make them a nation state in stake of democracy.

- after that the great otto von Bismarck to the initiative to make the Germany nation-state he made a careful planned and fight with the junkers of prussia and large landowners to make Germany a nation state.

- after winning seven wars Ottoman Bismarck established a nation state with William I as its king, and it completely removed democracy from there.
