Development of embryo after syngamy:
The development process starts only after the formation of the endosperm as it requires nutrition.
There are two embryonic stages. They are,
- Premature heart shaped embryo
- Mature embryo with radicle, plumule and cotlydon.
Endosperm development precedes embryo development:
As the embryo requires nutrition for it to develop, the endosperm development precedes the embryo development.
Reason: Need for nutrition.
