Hegel is a primary influence of  Marxism while Althusser is its culmination in literary circles.

Explanation:

Hegel's philosophy of egalitarian perspectives laid much of the groundwork for Marxism which then focused on material instincts of the work primarily and went on to the Marxist and the eventual  Lacanian phase which allowed for more psychological development.

Althusser brought on a more subaltern inspired approach with less material focus and a deeper understanding of the mind and lives of the two types of classes in question.
