The sequence of blood flow will be -

Left ventricle - the aorta - inferior vena cava - right atrium - right ventricle - lungs - left atrium - left ventricle

  • The heart pumps blood to different organs of the body. It has four chambers that separate the blood and prohibit the mixing of pure and impure blood.
  • The heart receives deoxygenated blood or carbon dioxide-loaded blood from the superior and inferior vena cava. This blood is received in the right atrium. Further, it moves to the right ventricle and is transported to the lungs.
  • In the lungs, the gaseous exchange removes carbon dioxide from the blood and provides oxygen.
  • Now, the oxygen-loaded blood or oxygenated blood reaches the heart.
  • The heart further supplies the blood to different organs for their growth and activity.
