Tracing the journey of a chappati/sandwich.
we all eat a chappati, or a sandwich, quite often. Our digestive system 'breaks down'
this food item into simpler forms. It, thus, helps it to provide the energy and nutrients

Use the flow chart, given on the next

just one/two sentence/s, in the space

W chart, given on the next page, to trace the journey of a chappati/sandwich
ow it goes from just being a 'food item on your plate' to 'energy for life. Write one /
two sentence/s, in the space provided, to highlight the role of, each of the indicated parts, in this eventful journey

The Chappati we eat contains Carbohydrate(Mainly)

  • The intake in our body is Mouth /BUCCAL CAVITY where it is acted upon by salivary amylase
  • The food/chappati is then passed diwn to stomach through oesophagus where the action of Salivary amylase is there
  • The food then reach Stomach where it's low pH destroys salivary Amylase action and action of Stomach's enzyme start working (Stomach mainly release pepsin (Principle starch digesting Enzyme))
  • Food then passes to small intestine where action of pancreatic Amylase is there

IT IS IN THE SMALL INTESTINE WHERE ABSORPTION OF \huge\blue{FOOD}

TAKES PLACE

  • The food passes into Large intestine (NOT THE FOOD THE NON ABSORBABLE PART)
  • In large intestine Water is absorbed
  • After absorbing maximum water Fiid is passed to Rectum from Rectum to Anus and finally reaches outside body by the process of
