The length of train b is 300 meter if train b can cross a pole in 12 seconds

Solution:

Given that,

Train A of length 120 m can cross a platform of length 240 m in 18 second

Distance covered = 120 + 240 = 360 m

Time = 18 second

Then,

Speed\ of\ train\ A = \frac{distance}{time} \\\\Speed\ of\ train\ A = \frac{360}{18} \\\\Speed\ of\ train\ A = 20

The ratio of speed train a and train b is 4: 5

Then,

\frac{speed\ of\ train\ A} {speed\ of\ train\ B} = \frac{4}{5} \\\\\frac{20} {speed\ of\ train\ B} = \frac{4}{5} \\\\ speed\ of\ train\ B = 25

Find the length of train b if train b can cross a pole in 12 seconds

Then,

Length\ of\ train\ B = speed \times time \\\\Length\ of\ train\ B = 25 \times 12 \\\\Length\ of\ train\ B = 300

Then, length of train B is 300 meter
