Step-by-step explanation:

Answer:

20 : 16

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the distance between Mumbai and Delhi be x

Train a takes 16 hours to reach Mumbai to Delhi

So, Distance = x

Time = 16

Speed =\frac{Distance}{Speed}Speed=SpeedDistance

Speed =\frac{x}{16}Speed=16x

Train b takes 20 hrs

Distance = x

Time = 20

Speed =\frac{Distance}{Speed}Speed=SpeedDistance

Speed =\frac{x}{20}Speed=20x

Ratio of their speeds = \frac{x}{16}:\frac{x}{20}16x:20x

                                   = 20 : 16

Hence ratio of speed of both train is 20 : 16

Solution :-

Given ,

  • Time taken by Train A = 16 hrs
  • Time talen by train B = 20 hrs

We need to find ,

  • Ratios of speeds of trains A & B

Here , the distance is same (Chicago to Washington) &

First finding the speed of train A

As we know that ,

Speed = \bf \dfrac{Distance}{time}

Let the distance between Chicago & Washington be x

\rm \longrightarrow Speed_{\big(train \;A\big)}= \bf\dfrac{x}{16} km/h

Hence , speed of train A = \bf\dfrac{x}{16}km/h

Now , finding speed of train B

\rm\longrightarrow Speed_{\big(train \; B\big)} = \bf \dfrac{x}{20} km/h

Now ,

\bullet\;\bf S_{\big(train \;A\big)} : S_{\big(train \; B\big)}\\\\\rm\longrightarrow \dfrac{x}{16}:\dfrac{x}{20} \\\\\longrightarrow\boxed{\bf 20:16}

\therefore \underline{\rm Hence\;ratio\;of\;train\:A\;\&\;train\:B=20:16}
