train is moving at a velocity of 25m/s it is brought to rest by applying the brakes which produces a uniform retardation of 0.5 m/s^2. calculate i) the velocity of the train after 10 s and ii) calculate the time required to stop it . 20m/s and -50s 35m/s and 12.5s 20m/s and 50s 35m/s and -12.5s 19. V(t)=Vo+at

V(t) final velocity; Vo initial velocity;

a acceleration; t time

Vo=20 m/sec

t=5 sec

V(t)=0

Hence 0=20+5a

Solving for a we get:

a=-4 m/sec^2
