Given,

4 hours are taken to complete a journey with a speed of 60km/hr

So we are given time and speed. Hence, we can calculate the distance.

We know that distance = Speed × time

Hence, distance = 60 × 4 = 240km

Now given if the speed is 40km/hr then time?

We know the distance and speed now so we can calculate the time.

Since, distance = speed × time

=> time = distance/speed

=> time = 240/40

=> time = 6hr.

Hence, your answer is 6 hr.

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️

Given, \textbf{In First Case} \\ \\ Time = 4 \ hr. \\ \\ Speed = 60 km \\ \\ Distance = time \times speed = 60 \times 4 \\ \\ Distance = 240 \ km \\ \\ \textbf{In second case; Reducing speed to 40 km/hr} \\ \\ New \ speed = 40 km/hr. \\ \\ Distance = 240 km \\ \\ Time taken = \frac{Distance}{Speed} \\ \\ = \frac{240}{40} \\ \\ = 6 hr. \ \ \textbf{Ans.}
