∴ The time taken by the train to cross the platform of length 250 meters is 18 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Speed = 90 km/h

Time = 8 seconds.

Formula used:

Distance = Speed × Time

Calculation:

According to the questions:

Speed = 90 km/h

⇒ 90 × (5/18) m/sec.

⇒ 25 m/sec

Now,

Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ D = 25 × 8

⇒ 200 meter.

When the train to cross the platform of length 250 meter,

Total distance = (200 + 250) meter

⇒ 450 meter.

Time = distance/Speed

⇒ 450/25

⇒18 seconds.

∴ The time taken by the train to cross the platform of length 250 meters is 18 seconds.

Answer:

Length of platform could be 250 m & not 250 k.m.

The man standing on a platform may be considered as a point the train is crossing.

Speed of train =( 90×1000) / (60×60) m/sec = 90000/3600 = 900 / 36= 100/4 = 25m/ sec

Distance train travels in 8 sec = 25 × 8 = 200 m

Length of train = 200 m

Length of platform = 250 m

Total distance for train to fully cross = length of train + length of platform = 200 + 250 = 450 m

Time taken to cross platform fully = distance/speed = 450 / 25 = 18 sec

hope this helps uhh..
