Alexander Graham Bell is a Canadian inventor. I chose my hero because he invented the telephone. When I looked farther in to Alexander Graham Bell's life I realized he invented a lot of things.
Alexander Graham Bell was born March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Alexander Graham Bell went to Edinburgh Royal High and the University of Edinburgh. Alexander Graham Bell asked his dad if he could get a middle name and he wanted it to be Graham. Alexander Graham Bell's best friend had a flour mill and Alexander invented a dehusked wheat at the age of 12. He immigrated to Canada in 1870 and then to the United States in 1871. Alexander Graham Bell died August 2, 1922 at Baddeck, Nova Scotia Canada.
Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876. First, Alexander Graham Bell taught the deaf when he got out of college. Next, Alexander Graham Bell went to France and they had an auction and the telephone sold for 50,000 thousand dollars. Alexander Graham Bell started the Bell company in 1885 with Calder Hubbard and Thomas Sanders. Finally, Alexander Graham Bell invented the kite that can hold a person. He also invented the three front wheels of an airplane. In the 1890's he started to experiment with propellers and kites.
Alexander Graham Bell had many character traits. He was very optimistic and had a lot of perseverance and was very disciplined. He was optimistic because never gave up on any of his inventions. Alexander Graham Bell had a lot of perseverance because he kept on trying with his many inventions even when they did not become anything. Also, he had a lot of discipline when it came to his work, he knew that he had to work long hours to accomplish what he needed to.
Alexander Graham Bell inspired me because he invented many things but the telephone was I think his biggest accomplishment. It has changed the way people live today. One day I want to invent something like Alexander Graham Bell to change the world in the future.
