Heya,
Friend,

Mendel crossed two parent pea plants , One of which was homozygous for round and yellow seed ( RRYY ) and other for wrinkled and green seed ( rr yy ) .All the plants produced in the F1 generation were with round and yellow seeds ( Rr Yy ) . Thus, round shape and yellow colour of the seed is dominant over the wrinkled shape and green colour.

But, when F1 Progeny are used to produce F2 progeny by self - Pollination, Mendel obtained four types of seeds , round yellow, round green, wrinkled yellow and wrinkled green In the ratio 9 : 3 : 3 : 1. The plants with round yellow and wrinkled green seeds are "Parental combinations" , but round green and wrinkled yellow are new combinations.

Thus, this experiment cleary shows that each pair of trait is inherited strictly independent of each other.

Hope through Mendel's experiment you'll understand easily....!!!
