Given : equation 3x+4y = 5

To Find :  Transform the following equations into

a) slope-intercept form

(b) intercept form and

(c)normal  form

Solution:

slope-intercept form  :  y=mx+b

intercept form x/a  + y/b  = 1

normal  form   ax + by + c = 0

3x+4y = 5

=> 4y = -3x + 5

=> y = (-3/4)x + 5/4

slope-intercept form  :

 y = (-3/4)x  + 5/4

3x+4y = 5

=> 3x/5  + 4y/5 = 1

=> x/(5/3) + y/(5/4) = 1

intercept form x/(5/3  + y/(5/4)  = 1

3x+4y = 5

=> 3x + 4y - 5 = 0

normal  form   3x + 4y - 5 = 0
