Transition elements are those elements which have incompletely filled d-subshell in there ground state or in any of there oxidation state.

There are 4 rows of 10 elements which involves filling of 3d, 4d, 5d and 6d orbits.

Properties:-

1) They have variable oxidation state.

2) They have high melting point and boiling point.

3) They are electropositive in nature.

4) They have tendency to form complexes.

5) All transition elements have typical metallic properties.
