Adults, whether they are teachers are parents, are often heard complaining that today's youth have totally lost the habit of reading.
They blame the youngsters for their lack of interest in books and tell them how they themselves would read entire libraries in their time.
This could be true but the elders forget that they had no distractions like those faced by the youth today. There was no television
beckoning with instant entertainment and a range of choices. There were no computers whose technology is addictive. There was only the scratchy, old-fashioned radio with its limited range, so they had little choice except to read.

بالغ ، خواہ وہ اساتذہ ہی والدین ہوں ، اکثر یہ شکایت کرتے ہوئے سنا جاتا ہے کہ آج کے نوجوان پڑھنے کی عادت پوری طرح کھو چکے ہیں۔

وہ نوجوانوں کو کتابوں میں دلچسپی نہ لانے کا الزام دیتے ہیں اور انھیں بتاتے ہیں کہ وہ خود اپنے زمانے میں پوری لائبریریوں کو کس طرح پڑھیں گے۔
