Answer:

3BaCl2 + Al2(SO)4 -> 3BaSO4 + 2AlCl3

Explanation:

To balance equation, just count the no. of an atom in reactant and write it in front of the same atom in product. There are 3 Cl atoms in Product so I write 3 in front of BaCl2, and 2 atoms of Al in reactant so I write 2 in front of AlCl3 in product, there became 3- 3 atoms of Ba and 6 atoms of Cl and 2 atoms of Al in both Products and reactant.

Explanation:

Balanced chemical reaction:

3 B a C l_{2(a q)}+A l_{2}\left(S O_{4}\right)_{3(a q)} \rightarrow 3 B a S O_{4(s)} \downarrow+2 A l C l_{3(a q)}

  • In above reaction the barium sulphate is formed as precipitate. So, this is a precipitation reaction and the physical state of the products and the reactants are mentioned in the above reaction.
  • In this reaction, the position of the chloride with barium and sulphate with aluminium is interchanged to form barium sulphate and aluminium chloride. So, this is also a double displacement reaction.

Uses:

  • Barium sulphate is used as drilling agent, plastic filler, and radiocontrast agent.
  • Aluminium sulphate is used in water purification and as coagulating agent.
