(x+8)×\frac{2}{5} = 20

Well, I don't know how to explain this. But I'll try.

Okay, so whenever we get such questions we have to read it thoroughly and organize the place of the numbers in mind and then write it down. It's quite simple if you get a grip on it. So... they asked two-fifth so two fifth is gonna look like this- \frac{2}{5}

And then they said its two fifth of the SUM of x and 8. So, sum means addition hence... (x+8)

(the bracket doesn't matter much in such equations)

The next part of the Q says equals 20.

So... =20

Now we arrange it.

So they said two-fifth of the sum of x and 8.

\frac{2}{5} x (x + 8)

(Btw, the fraction being in the first or after it doesn't pretty much matter but I'd suggest if you kept it after it, that'd be pretty good or make it easier)

Now, which equals 20.

\frac{2}{5} x (x + 8) = 20

Voila! I hope you understood how to do it! If you did, I'm gonna buy myself a badge! Else sorry. T_T

Anyways, hope it helped you!
