Yeah, it is very important for plants. as this process helps in transporting food from roots or stems to leave to make food. and then carry food to all parts of the body.

The transport of soluble products of photosynthesis is known as translocation. Translocation in plants occurs by means of the vascular tissue known as phloem. Translocation is necessary because without it, the food prepared by the leaves cannot reach other parts of the plant. In plants, the synthesis of sugars takes place in the leaves by the process of photosynthesis. Hormones are synthesised away from their target site.

Hope it helps!!
