• Option “B” is correct i.e. released by the neurotransmitter.

• Transmission of nerve impulses across the synapse is accomplished by the release of neurotransmitters.

• They are the chemicals that permit the spread of signals from one neuron to the next through synapses. It turns on the neuroreceptors which mainly modify the polarity of the membrane which aids in nerve transmission.
