Answer:

Explanation:

transpiration is a process of loss of water in form of water vapour from areal parts of plant

leaf needs carbon dioxide and water for photosynthesis. For carbon dioxide to enter, the stomata on the surface of the leaf must be open. As you have seen, transpiration draws water from the roots into the leaf mesophyll. However, the plant must not lose so much water during transpiration that it wilts. The plant must strike a balance between conserving water and bringing in sufficient amounts of CO2 for photosynthesis.

Photosynthesis is a process which requires water and carbon dioxide as raw materials. Water is absorbed by the roots which penetrate into the soil. Dixon- Joly theory is also known as Cohesion-Tension theory. This theory is based on the upward movement of water from the root to aerial parts of the plant body which is called as ascent of sap or often called translocation of water.  Water molecules stick to one another through cohesion forming a column in the xylem. The negative pressure created by transpiration pull exerts a force on these water particles causing their upward movement in xylem.

Transpiration is the evaporation of water from the leaves in the form of water vapour. Transpiration occurs in leaves through special structures present on them called as stomata.Transpiration is the process which helps the plant in many ways.

*Transpiration always occurs against the gravity.

*Transpiration involves mainly the xylem cells which become active during absorption process by the roots.

*Excess water is removed from the cells of the plant to prevent plant decay.

*Osmotic balance of the cell is maintained by the process of transpiration.

*Transpiration is the process which helps all the parts of the plant to cool them.

*Transpiration helps in the distribution of dissolved substances to all parts of the plant.
