Roots and stems are plant organ which contain "Transport system" of a plant. They have thin tubes inside them which carry liquids up and down the plant called "Xylem" and "Pholem".
Xylem:
"Xylem" tubes carry water and minerals from the soil up to the parts of the plant above the ground. Xylem is a dead tissue.
Pholem:
"Pholem" tubes are made from living cells joined end to end. They carry sugar solution from the leaves where it is made during photosynthesis.
