Transverse waves can be formed in
solids and on the surfaces of liquids
only. Why.. explain.​

Answer:

It is because a motion/force, perpendicular to direction of propagation, induced continuously in the molecules of the medium( solid and liquid).

But not in air because there is random motion of the molecules.
