Travelling and its Benefits
According to Augustine, the world is a great book, of which they who never stir from home read only a page. It is a well established fact now that travelling gives a character to our knowledge. While travelling we have firsthand knowledge about the place we are travelling. We actually see the place with our own eyes, and its memory stays with us throughout our life. For example reading about Ooty may be entertaining and appealing, but visiting Ooty in person will surely be thousand times more entertaining and gratifying. Standing on the tallest peak Doddabetta, roaming in the botanical garden, boat ride in the Pykara lake, visit to tea and coffee plantations, etc will fill you with ineffable thrill.
Traveling is wonderful in many ways. As we travel we meet more new people, cultures, and lifestyles. With all the newness in our life, we are also opened to new insights, outlook, perception of the world and living, which often gives us a new purpose for our lives.
While travelling, we have to be prepared for unplanned emergencies and schedules. We have to make arrangements for our travelling, lodging and boarding. This makes us more organized and self-reliant.
At home we are always living in the cocoon of comfort, luxuries, and protection among our loving and caring family members; we generally take them for granted. We are usually not appreciative of their love for us. However, when we spend time away from home, especially in a place where we don’t have the same luxuries readily available to us, we become more aware and appreciative for the luxuries we have back at home.
The more we travel, the more we realize that our home is so much more than the town, city, state and even country that we’ve grown up in; we realize that our home is the world, this planet, and we become more conscious of how we can harmoniously live and support one another. And in that knowingness and state of consciousness, we extend our sympathy and support to the less privileged.
While travelling we make new friends at the new place and carry their memories home. Thus, travelling makes the inhabitants interconnected. We start feeling ourselves as members of one big family of mankind living on one home planet. This makes life more wonderful.
In conclusion it can be said that travelling is one of the most precious gifts of life, and we must relish it and enjoy its sundry life-transforming benefits.Tourism and its Benefits
Tourism benefits
There are many benefits involved in travel and tourism. Tourists generate lots of economic activities. Since India is a fast developing country, it needs considerable impetus of propitious economic activities. Tourism helps in providing the much needed impetus to our national economy.
Firstly, historic buildings help create vibrant, cultural downtowns that engender tourism, art, festivals, and other activities which in turn draw investment, revenue, and economic growth. A dynamic historic downtown can be the hub of community life: a place to shop, invest, create and live. Simultaneously, preservation can be a tool to boost economy and quality of life. Local residents benefit through the services that rise naturally in demand due to economic activities generated by tourism such as learning and recreational activities.
The second benefit of travelling and tourism is the economic and public benefits that act as powerful tools in sustaining local economy, creating jobs, and even generating capital. The aesthetic, cultural and historical benefits of tourism are well known, but now, communities are realizing that there are positive economic effects also. Can you just imagine how much wealth India earns from foreign tourists that visit Taj Mahal, Delhi, and Rajasthan? Some of the old historical buildings have been converted into heritage hotels? Thousands of people get employment and jobs due to the tourism that is boosted by the preservation of forts and other historical monuments.
The third benefit that we derive from tourism is the positive image that is formed in the eyes of the foreign and local tourists. Well maintained and preserved forts and buildings send a positive message to the visitors about our caring and organized national character. This not only helps in winning over the confidence of the foreigners, but also gives boost to self-confidence. So we must promote tourism and maintain our historical buildings and give them new look!
In conclusion it can be said that tourism is very beneficial for our country. We must improve the standard of facilities, safety, hospitality, and other areas related to tourism.
