Travelling as a hobby says a lot about a person. The interviewers get an indication of the following traits in the person:

1. Open to learning new things- Each journey exposes us to something new. It may be in terms of new food, new destinations, new experiences and certainly new people. So, a traveller is not fixed in his ways and has an open mindset when it comes to learning.

2. More accepting of diverse cultures- Given how travelling to different places leads to interaction with people of different cultures, travellers are known to be accepting of diversity. This reduces prejudices and contributes to better mental health and makes an individual a better team player.

3. Greater adaptability- Since travelling involves stepping out of the comfort of our homes, and exploring new destinations, a love for travelling suggests that the person is not stuck-up. Instead, the person is open to change and can adapt well to changing situations.

4. Better problem solving skills- Many problems can be encountered while travelling. A person who enjoys travelling gets used to handling problems without losing his/her calm. This quality comes in handy even later in life.
