treaty of Versailles became the prime reason for world war 2 because this treaty was very harsh.... According to the treaty Germany lost its overseas colonies, one tenth of its population, 13th percent of its territories, demilitarise itself, give 26% of coal and 75% of iron to France, Poland, Denmark and Lithuania.
Germany also had to pay a war compensation pf 6 billion pounds and the allied army held the resource rich Rhineland for a long time
