Because jungles and forests are so thick, all of the plants need to compete for the sunlight. That is why the trees, creepers, and vines grow so tall. They are reaching and competing for the light That is also why in forests you'll find that the bottoms of the trees look dead - no light. However jungles are much more lush and have more water sources. The trees there just grows very tall with leaves only growing on top. Weather the tree has a dead looking bottom or only grows leaves at top has to do with the type of trees
