The plants/trees growing near a factory often gather alot of dust particles on their leaves.This may effect the photosynthetic activity of the leaves because the sunlight may not be captured by the chlorophyll in the leaves .......so this effects the food preparation process i.e.photosynthesis so that the plant may not prepare food and ultimately the plant may die.hope this helps you
