(a) The poet means that the trees express great love for us by providing us with all that we need like shade to rest, fruits to eat and wood to build our homes
(b) The poet says that the birds who used to chirp all around us have disappeared. The trees which used to give shelter to these birds have been cut down to meet the demands of the paper
(c) On reading these lines, a clear picture of blankness and despair comes to our mind. One can neither see the lush green trees nor can hear the cheerful chirping of the birds.
