Trembling ,terrified to fail,blind with tears ,the nightingale heard him out in silence ,tried... a) what did the nightingale have to hear? b) why did she remain silent ? c) what did she try next?

a) The nightingale, 'trembling' and 'terrified', was to hear the frog's cruel and unfair criticism.
b) She remained silent because the frog had convinced her that he was superior to her and he knew what was better for her. She thought that he had much more knowledge about music than her, and thus listened to him without any protest.
c) After hearing the frog's criticism, she tried to improve herself and sing better.
