trial and error method:-

in this method we have to assume various values of x until it satisfies d equation.

solution:-

let us 1st assume the value of x as 6 because we can see that d equation has an answer in +ve form

  • x-5=2
  • 6-5=1

this doesn't satisfies d equation since we want 2 as answer n not 1.

now let's assume 7 as d vale of x

  • x-5=2
  • 7-5=2

now, we cam see that we got d value 2 which was required.

hence, d value of x is 7.
