Here,

Given: let triangle ABC be an isosceles triangle in which AB=AC = 13cm

Let AD be the altitude on BC where

AD = 15cm

To find: length of BC

Solution: in triangle ABD and triangle ACD.

AB= AC

AD =AD

Angle ADB = angle ADC = 90°

So triangle ABD and triangle ADC are congruent to each other.

So BD = DC

In triangle ADC,

By Pythagoras theorem.

AC² = AD² + DC²

13² = 15² + DC²

DC = 7.4cm

BC = 14.8 cm

I hope my answer will help you
